The Elliott Bay Book Company is turning 40 years old! Leading up to our Big Birthday we are going to be hosting a number of competitions and other celebratory events.
We’re starting the celebration off with a bang and are pleased to announce our T-Shirt Design Contest! The contest winner will have their design printed on all our 40th anniversary T-shirts, which will be sold online and in the store as a featured limited edition T-shirt.
What’s my inspiration for the design?
Your design should be inspired by the Elliott Bay Book Company, by our 40th celebration, by a love of books and reading, and by our community. Be creative. Have fun. Where is this design going to be placed?
We plan to use the design on a commemorative, limited edition 40th anniversary T-shirt or tote bag. We may also use it in promotions for the event.
What is the prize for winning the T-shirt design contest?
In addition to the winner’s substantial bragging rights, we will be giving the winner of the contest a $100 Elliott Bay Book Company gift certificate!
How many designs may you submit?
We ask the contributors submit no more than one (1) design for consideration.
How are the designs judged?
We have a special panel of smart people who will be judging the submissions based on the following criteria:
– Captures the essence and spirit of the Elliott Bay Book Company
– Recognizable design
– Ease of reproducing the design on a T-shirt or tote bag
What should I keep in mind when creating a design?
Your design must be wholly original and entirely your own creation. Your design must not contain any copyrighted material. By submitting a design to the contest, you are affirming you hold the rights to every component of the design. You are also agreeing to give the Elliott Bay Book Company printing rights if your design wins and understand we may use the design on T-shirts, tote bags, other promotional materials, online, and in print.
How should I submit my design?
Please email your design to firstname.lastname@example.org. All electronic entries should be .jpg, tiff, pdf, png, or ai format. Please submit low resolution files. If your design wins, we will request a higher resolution file. When you email us, please include your full name, email address, and telephone number.
When does my design need to be submitted?
Entries for the contest will not be accepted after 2013 April 10 at noon Pacific Standard Time. Please have your design submitted by then.
When and how do I find out if I won?
We will pick a winner on Thursday, April 25th by 6:00pm PST. The winner of the contest will be contacted via email or phone that same day. We will also be announcing the winner online.
