StoryCorps founder Dave Isay drew from ten years of the revolutionary oral history project’s rich archives, collecting conversations that celebrate the power of the human bond and capture the moment in which individuals become family for his new book, Ties That Bind: Stories of Love & Gratitude from the First Ten Years of StoryCorps (Penguin Press). Tonight he’ll share some of the stories (which include ties between blood relations, friends, coworkers and neighbors) in a lively multimedia presentation. Join us, listen and share a story of your own tonight. Dave Isay, whose books include Listening is an Act of Love, is the winner of six Peabody Awards and a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship. StoryCorps’ first ever animated feature, Listening Is an Act of Love: a StoryCorps Special premiered on PBS’ POV series Thanksgiving weekend.
